10-25-03. This is a surprisingly warm morning with temperature at 80 degrees around the Montara/Half Moon Bay area at 0830 hrs. Lucky for us passing through Half Moon Bay this early because this weekend is the Pumpkin Festival where thousands of people gather throughout the day.
The parking area at the McNee Ranch Park trailhead only holds 7-8 cars. Some of us have to park at another dirt lot a couple of hundred yards south, along Hwy 1. Here we are waiting for the remainder of the group to show up.
